Foil Drive has played a key role in the evolution of 270 over the past year, helping refine a wide range of outlines tailored to different riding styles. Through that process, one shape stood out above the rest. The Unicorn.

Simply put, it just works.

Fast, responsive, and incredibly intuitive, the Unicorn features finely tuned rail lines for maximum performance, easy release, and smooth, controlled touchdowns. It is a shape riders keep coming back to, tested and refined across a wide range of conditions, sizes, and skill levels.

This is the board that does it all. Once you ride it, you will understand why.

A true quiver killer, built for the future of foiling, with or without Foil Drive.

The Kinetic was born from a simple idea. Bring the mast closer to the deck to create a more connected, responsive ride. The result is a livelier, more direct feel underfoot, with refined volume distribution and improved balance across all conditions.

With Foil Drive integration, the design goes even further. Cavitation is minimised, battery swaps on Max and Fusion are seamless without the need for oversized trenches, and touchdowns feel smoother and more controlled.

Whether you are riding powered or unassisted, the Kinetic delivers a balanced, locked-in feel that keeps you connected to every movement.

How Foil Drive Works

At Foil Drive, we focus on the electronics, that's what we do best! This leaves the boards and foils in the trusted hands of brand collaborations! 1. Choose Your System

You’ll need to decide between the Fusion, MAX or Slim Foil Drive. The Fusion is our most powerful system. With the power and runtime of an Efoil, the lightness and adaptability of an Assist, the Fusion earns its name as the perfect blend of both worlds. The MAX is our most popular kit, designed as the ultimate all-rounder with extended runtime and plenty of power for every session. The Slim, is a lightweight option created for riders who want a minimal setup and quick bursts of performance.

2. Choose your battery

Each system can be paired with different battery sizes to suit how you ride. Larger batteries deliver longer runtime, while smaller batteries keep the weight down, perfect for performance foiling and a more agile feel on the water. Whether you’re chasing endurance or chasing waves, the right battery choice ensures your Foil Drive moves with you.

What makes 270 Board Co.’s Foil Drive boards different?

Each board is handcrafted in California using premium full-carbon construction and purpose-designed trenches for seamless Foil Drive Assist MAX/ Slim and Foil Drive Fusion integration. Our shapes are tuned specifically for electric-assist foiling, optimized for weight distribution, clean hydrodynamics, fast takeoff, and precise control.

How do I choose between the Mid Length and Performance Foil Drive models?
  • Mid Length: More stable, forgiving, and versatile. Great for beginners, progressing riders, or anyone wanting easy takeoffs and smooth cruising.
  • Performance: More responsive and agile. Ideal for experienced riders who want speed, tight carving, and higher-end maneuverability.

If you’re unsure, we can recommend a volume and model based on your weight, skill level, and riding goals.

What board volume should I choose?

General guidelines:

  • If you’re newer to foiling or prefer stable takeoffs, choose a volume closer to your body weight in liters.
  • Intermediate and advanced riders often size down for a more reactive feel.
  • Mid Length models range from 50–120L and Performance models from 60–130L, giving you flexibility across skill levels.

We’re happy to help you dial in the perfect volume.

How much do the boards weigh?

Thanks to full carbon vacuum construction, smaller boards (upper 30–40 liter range) can weigh as little as 6–7 pounds. Weight varies with size and volume, but all boards are built as light and strong as possible without compromising durability.
