NSP
NSP has spent over two decades refining durable, high-performance boards for everyday riders. Foil Drive has redefined what’s possible in assisted foiling. Together, this partnership delivers a seamless blend of design, technology, and on-water performance.
The NSP x Foil Drive collaboration is brought to life through the vision of Gerry Lopez, a true pioneer whose influence spans decades of surfing innovation.
Known for his smooth, flowing style and deep connection to the ocean, Gerry has shaped the Pelican with a clear focus on early lift, efficiency, and intuitive control. The result is a Foil Drive, optimized board that blends timeless surf feel with modern foiling performance—designed to get you flying sooner and riding longer.

Designed by Gerry Lopez, the NSP Pelican is purpose-built as a high-performance Foil Drive assist board. Compared to traditional Foil Drive-compatible boards, the Pelican features a more compact outline, reduced thickness, and lighter overall weight, helping you get up and flying with less effort and more control. The result is a board that feels natural underfoot, whether you’re learning or pushing performance.

You’ll need to decide between the Fusion, MAX+ or Slim Foil Drive. The Fusion is our most powerful system. With the power and runtime of an Efoil, the lightness and adaptability of an Assist, the Fusion earns its name as the perfect blend of both worlds. The MAX+ is our most popular kit, designed as the ultimate all-rounder with extended runtime and plenty of power for every session. The Slim, is a lightweight option created for riders who want a minimal setup and quick bursts of performance.

Each system can be paired with different battery sizes to suit how you ride. Larger batteries deliver longer runtime, while smaller batteries keep the weight down, perfect for performance foiling and a more agile feel on the water. Whether you’re chasing endurance or chasing waves, the right battery choice ensures your Foil Drive moves with you.

Absolutely. While it’s optimised for Foil Drive, the Pelican features standard 13” twin tracks, making it fully compatible with traditional prone foil setups.
Unlike many adapted designs, the Pelican was developed from the ground up by Gerry Lopez to plane faster, reduce drag, and deliver a more natural surf foil feel, resulting in earlier takeoffs and smoother flight.
Yes, the Pelican is designed to make foiling more accessible, especially when paired with Foil Drive. Its stability at low speeds and efficient lift help reduce the learning curve, while still offering performance for experienced riders.
